Yes. We start with a review of your account covering security, cost, and how much of it exists only in someone’s memory rather than in code. You get a written assessment with priorities before any work is quoted, so nothing is a surprise later.

Is AWS overkill for a small product?

It can be. A small application with steady traffic sometimes runs more cheaply and simply on a managed host, and we will tell you when that is true. AWS earns its complexity once you need scale, compliance, or services you would otherwise build.

Are we locked in if we build on AWS?

Partly, and it depends on choices we make together. Containers and standard databases move elsewhere with reasonable effort. Deeply managed services are harder to leave. We will tell you which parts of a design are portable and which are commitments.

Can you help us meet HIPAA or SOC 2?

We can build and configure the infrastructure to support it, covering encryption, access controls, logging, and a signed agreement with AWS where required. The certification itself involves an auditor and your internal processes, not just the setup.

AWS is Amazon’s cloud platform, which in practice means renting the parts of a computing setup you would otherwise buy and look after yourself: servers, databases, storage, and networking, alongside a long list of managed services that handle work your team would otherwise have to build and then keep running for the life of the application.

Compute is rarely the surprise. The unexpected line items are almost always data transfer between regions and out to the internet, storage that nobody ever moved to a cheaper tier, capacity provisioned for a peak and then left running overnight, and test environments that somebody spun up for a week eighteen months ago and never switched off.

We treat cost as an architecture decision rather than something to audit after the fact. That means matching the compute model to each workload, setting budgets and alerts before anything ships, sizing to measured demand instead of guessing high, and going through the bill with you monthly. A cloud setup nobody reviews gets more expensive every quarter.

We work across compute on EC2, ECS with Fargate, and Lambda, with S3 for storage and RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB for data. Applications sit behind API Gateway and CloudFront, with Cognito handling identity and SQS or EventBridge moving work between services. Infrastructure is defined in Terraform or CDK, monitored through CloudWatch, and deployed by pipeline rather than by hand.
