When Native Actually Matters
Native development earns its cost when your app leans hard on platform-specific capabilities: deep HealthKit or ARKit integration, background processing that has to behave a particular way on iOS versus Android, or a UI that needs to feel exactly like the operating system it lives in. Camera-heavy apps, fitness apps syncing with wearables, and anything doing real-time audio or video processing usually belong here.
Native also wins when performance is the product itself — games, AR experiences, and apps with heavy on-device computation.
When Cross-Platform Is The Better Call
For most business apps — marketplaces, booking platforms, internal tools, content apps — the user does not care what rendered the screen. They care that it is fast and it works.
